Colin + Justin // Longbeach Cabin

This is what Colin + Justin achieved during quarantine and it is brilliant.

It was a typical Canadian cottage with a few bedrooms and bathrooms, on a nice low lying piece of lakefront property with beautiful view.  It was all quite appealing to a typical cottager.  However, the dynamic duo Colin + Justin bought it up and escalated every single component.  We were familiar with the cottage before these cottaging influencers purchased it, as we had supplied windows and doors throughout via the original owners.  This was one of the selling features for Colin + Justin, as they have whole-heartedly committed to working with us on their projects.  How delightful!

They immediately carved out walls, built a guest bunkie and transformed the exterior facade.  It was incredible to see how confident they were in every design decision.  As always, teams of contractors and suppliers worked steadily to have major construction components completed in a timely fashion.  Thankfully the heavy lifting was near completion, as it wasn't long after the large trucks drove away before we were all told to stay inside for a while.

Admittedly, watching Colin + Justin whittle away at their various design projects within Longbeach was a pleasant distraction from the daily doom and gloom of COVID-19 news feeds.  The ever-charming duo created well balanced spaces,  infused the entire environment with daylight, cleaned up sight lines and ultimately decorated the space with trendy objects and furniture - most of which of their own product designs via Homesense.

The window and door components throughout this project were in their signature colour - blackCasements and Evolution Doors can be found in every space and were designed to maximize the view. Industrial toned steel windows were built and installed from a local custom fabricator as an upper staircase room divider.  Sunspace Sunrooms supplied an airy 3-seasons room enclosure with black framed sliding divisions, along with glass railings used throughout the project.  Even the bathroom shower walls replicated black steel windows.  Colin and Justin have made a stance - ebony glazing prevails!

With the project completed, decorated and polished, it sadly needed to go on the market to find a 'forever family'  It took only 6-days before the cottage had new owners.

Colin + Justin's Newly Designed Haliburton Cottage, sold for 2.1 Million

"With global circumstances as they’ve been these last few months, we hope Long Beach proves the perfect escape for one lucky buyer, or indeed buyers. We’re focused on change – and we certainly feel it coming. In the meantime, what better place to ride out the storm than in our recently completed beach cabin?" Colin & Justin

Colin Justin Haliburton Cottage Longbeach with Black Windows

It was only hours after the announcement of Colin & Justin saying goodbye to Longbeach before the reveal of their next projects on the lake, Rockcliff and a second cottage overhaul they have named 'High Point'.  We are enthusiastic about the glazing details for these upcoming transformations, as there are some existing design challenges to tackle and the potential for a beloved A-Frame build as a designer bunkie.
